Its pricing model counts a complete workflow execution rather than every step in that workflow. That can be attractive for long deterministic flows, though AI assistant credits and the infrastructure used for self-hosting remain separate considerations.

The platform is expressive. A team can decide how much logic stays in nodes, custom code or external services. That freedom is valuable when engineers understand the connected systems and are prepared to own the workflow lifecycle.

Ownership includes more than the initial build. Credentials expire. APIs change. Data contracts drift. Queues fill. A workflow succeeds technically but writes the wrong business state. Someone needs the time and authority to investigate those cases.

Test 3: Action consequence

Low-consequence synchronization can often be owned locally. External messages, financial commitments, record deletion and decisions affecting people need explicit authority and recovery. The tool choice matters less than whether those controls are enforced.

Test 4: Deployment responsibility

Self-hosting is sensible when the company wants the control and can operate it. If the requirement is actually data mapping, action approval or model-provider choice, solve that requirement directly instead of assuming self-hosting settles it.

Test 5: Life after launch

Name the person who will receive a failure at 09:00 on Monday and still understand the workflow six months later. If that owner does not exist, the operating model is incomplete.

When n8n and Skybridge should coexist

n8n can remain the deterministic integration layer for a technical team while a Compsia system owns the business-facing AI process. A hypothetical account-briefing example

Consider a fictional company preparing a daily account brief from a CRM, calendar and email system.

If the brief follows fixed filters and posts to an internal channel, an n8n workflow owned by the automation team may be enough. If the brief must interpret conflicting context, respect account-specific knowledge, draft a client-facing follow-up and request approval from the account owner, the production perimeter becomes wider.
